Thanks to my BookBub ad, I made it to # 4 on Amazon Women’s Fiction list, #384 in the whole Amazon store, #89 in the whole B&N store, and sold over 600 copies–with more sales still coming in! And check out the pic below. Look who is hanging with the fabulous Anna Quindlen. . .
From Kathy, a Top 500 Amazon reviewer:
“THE DRAKE EQUATION is one hell of a fantastic read.”
“Readers with less tolerance for romantic fluff will find in this novel an intelligent and meaningful look at what it means to live in today’s very volatile world”
Wow. I’m humbled by this review.
“When you read something so gracefully done, you just sit down and have a moment. Truly, Heather Walsh is amazing! I am looking forward to her upcoming works.”
A male perspective on Drake. I really enjoyed reading Aaron’s review!
“I finished this book yesterday, but it was only today that I sat down to put words to paper. I needed to think a while about the characters, their stories and the decisions they made. I don’t suppose there’s a better compliment you can give a writer than to tell her she made you think. That should be enough to convince you that Heather Walsh’s book is worth your time.”
The Drake Equation is up to 20 reviews on Amazon with a 4.5 average rating.
“This is one of those books that has stuck with me, in a happy way.”
“I laughed out loud more times than I can count.”
“Like Dented Cans, Heather Walsh’s first book, this one is solid, with beautifully constructed characters and a story that unfolds slowly and realistically. ”
I am pleased to announce the official launch of my new novel, The Drake Equation. Available at all e-book retailers and as a paperback at Amazon.

She’s a Democrat, he’s a Republican. She spends her days fighting global warming at an environmental non-profit, he makes his living doing PR for Bell Motors and their fleet of SUVs. But as soon as they meet, Emily Crossley and Robert Drake realize they have encountered their intellectual match. You’re never challenged, he tells her. You’ve surrounded yourself in a cocoon of people who think exactly the same way you do. She hurls the same accusation back at him, and the fiery debates begin.
Despite both of their attempts to derail it, there is no denying that they are falling in love. But their relationship is threatened by political differences, Robert’s excessive work hours, and Emily’s fear of losing her identity as she falls deeper in love.
Can their love survive? The Drake Equation is a tale of modern love and all its complexities.
Milestone reached–5,000 sales of Dented Cans! Time for some bubbly. Now stay tuned for my next novel that I plan to publish in the fall. This time, it’s a love story. . .
Dented Cans has sold over 3,400 copies so far!
I purchased an advertisement on something called BookBub, which sends out an email to subscribers about eBooks. The ad cost $220, so I was a little nervous about spending so much. I would have to sell 600 copies just to break even (I put the book on sale at 99 cents).
Well, I sold 1,100 copies and made it all the way to #100 in the Paid store! It was only on the hallowed Top 100 list for 2 hours, from about 3 a.m. – 5 a.m. So how did I manage to get this screenshot? My 1-yr-old woke up me. I suppose that is one of the few upsides to a teething toddler!
Dented Cans was featured on Ereader News today in the beginning of February, and had a very successful day! It made it to #257 in the Kindle Store, and was #3 on the Movers and Shakers list. Pretty cool.
